Daniel Bohbot incinerated LA Fashion Week with Coachella’s go-to fashions for summer. Combining boho chic, leather, and fringe the collection harkened back to luscious styles of the 70’s. Anyone who says Rock & Roll is dead hasn’t met Bohbot. Fashion’s wild child has usurped Cavalli as the go-to designer for those in Rock & Roll and those who just wish to present the façade. Fringe culture has never looked so hot, with Bohbot shedding skin after skin to present new must haves with every season.
Flowing Summer dresses combined with satchel bags and cowboy hats to present the uniform of the modern woman, dangerous, beautiful, and self-possessed— a woman wild at heart and determined to conquer both men and women alike.
The Bohbot woman is a myth; she is an unattainable aspiration able to move unencumbered by the restrictions of mere mortals. With prints inspired by nature and eyes that cut glass, she is a formidable foe whose appearance alludes to the danger that lies beneath her swaths of silk and leather.
“Fashion has evolved, and fewer people than ever plan six months in advance. They want to have access to things that they see immediately. So I have decided upon a new train of thought for Ready-To-Wear: ‘See it now, buy it now, wear it now.’ This is why we will have four, rather than two collections per year,” Daniel Bohbot stated.
The master of reinvention, Bohbot like his collections is strikingly bold. Reimagining the entire fashion industry for the woman of the future. The woman, like the moth, seeks to emerge.
On March 17th, 2016 Bohbot presented 36 pieces from his Hale Bob Summer Collection at the Pacific Design Center for Style Fashion Week. Utilizing hand-treated silks and hand beadings, the pieces surpass fashion to the level of masterpieces. Tailored for summer the voluminous skirts and dresses allow the sweltering Coachella heat to pass between silk and skin to provide a cooling breadth.
The Parisian expatriate has combined culture with fashion and comfort to address the needs of today’s it girls. The unexpected has been realized. Will the women of today rise to meet the challenge?
